The Time to Step Up Is Now


What a great year this has been!

We all wanted a hot market, and we got one - all the metrics are moving in a positive direction and don't appear to be slowing down. The numbers show that more people are getting into the action, and I hope you have earned your share of success and profitability. The signs point toward a solid 2014.

As a company owner, you must be deeply involved in the decisions which affect your businesses. Your financial investment comes with a psychological investment - you stay involved and care about what happens because it is yours. As a result of your involvement and caring about what happens, you get the benefits of your participation.

This is a simple but very important concept when it comes to the governance of an organization such as MRED. When you bought a preferred unit of ownership in MRED, you showed that involvement and participation matter to you. Through it you can test your involvement and participation by:

  • Voting in MRED Board elections
  • Running for election to the MRED Board of Managers
  • Voting on certain substantive matters at Preferred Unit Owner meetings
  • Receiving special notices from MRED about what's happening in real estate
  • Making a difference in how MRED delivers its outstanding services

As an owner of MRED, it is time to step up and get involved - please run for one of the open positions on the MRED Board of Managers. Having a direct voice regarding the substantive issues facing MRED would seem to be the best reason for you to have purchased a preferred unit. What better way is there to ensure that your interests and the interest of MRED are in harmony?

The deadline to file nominations is at the end of business on November 15th. Log in to MREDLLC.com and click on the Nomination link on the top of the page to nominate yourself or another qualified Preferred Unit Owner. For a list of Preferred Unit voting members, after you've logged in to MREDLLC.com, click on the Voting Members. Under the Elections heading you will find the 2013 Voting Roster.

Important Election Dates

Nominations will be accepted until Friday, November 15th at 5:00 PM.

Emails will be sent to individual voting members on Monday, November 18th containing information on how to vote.

Online elections will be open from Friday, November 22nd at 8:30 AM to Tuesday, November 26 at 5:00 PM.

Winners of the elections will be announced on Wednesday, November 27 via email.
